Sin I’m a man I’m a boy
Tommorow after second found lust
How am I supposed to work at night
If I just have to cook for my wife
No other song in the past year has made me want to get up and walk-dance down the street in a fashionable outfit dishing out high fives and shooting imaginary “you the man” bullets from my finger guns at people as much as Blood Oranges “Sutphin Boulevard” has. “That’s not a normal thing to want to do” you may say, to which I respond “I don’t think we’re going to get along”. Anyway, the moral of the story is “Sutphin Boulevard” is an awesome song, and I’m great at pretending I’m walking down the street in a 70’s music video.
Blood Orange is one of the many alias’ of British do-everythinger Devonté Hynes. “Sutphin Boulevard” is off his 2011 album Costal Grooves, out through Domino Records.
