“On The Run”
“I’d be happy anywhere as long as I’m with you,
Now we call up all our friends and tell them what we’ve done,
We’ve left everything behind, we’re on the run,
We’ll never look back and you know we’re still not done,
We’re living free now baby, we’re on the run”
Nightlife’s “On The Run” marks the first time I’ve actually done a post on a song/band that someone suggested to me through email. It’s not that I dislike the music people send us; it’s more the fact that I have a hard time getting around to listening to it in the first place. I promise to change my ways in the future though and will try and set aside time every week or so to listen to the music people took the time to send us… probably…
I’ve been digging synthpop songs that have a 80’s feel to them recently (damn you Drive Soundtrack!) and “On The Run” falls into that category for me. When I first heard “On The Run” it was while watching the music video and I really didn’t like it at all. It wasn’t until later when I randomly listened to it again that I realized how much more enjoyed it without the music video. I’ve been picky with music videos recently, so others might not dislike it as much as I did (that’s why I attached it below) but like I’ve been saying with several posts recently, listen to the song first.
Nightlife is an Ann Arbor, Michigan duo consisting of Darin Rajabian and Caroline Myrick. “On The Run” is off Nightlife’s Radio EP released in 2011.
