Taken from the “valtari mystery film experiment,” Icelandic band, Sigur Rós told a dozen filmmakers to shoot a video for one of the songs off their album Valtari, with no instruction, as long as it be inspired by the music. Each filmmaker receiving a $10,000 budget, how do you compete when one filmmaker (Alma Har’el) takes that money and delivers Shi LaBeouf giving a powerful performance, dancing naked, crying, tearing apart a room, and eating glowing candy? It’s tear jerking. Yes, Shia LaBeouf (“Transformers,” “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”) made me tear up, does that make me any less of a man?
I know Travis will flip when he sees this because Alma Har’el was also responsible for Beirut’s “Elephant Gun,” his favorite music video of all time.
